Elegy for Colin

Man-in-wheelchair-old-man--old-man-287330

Infused on sky our brightest star
Brings heat to frail ossein,
Then suffering yields if just awhile
And sinews follow whim.

Limp skeleton devoid of thew
Is normall’d in its tone
When spectral shades of lost puissance
Allows reflex to roam.

Then mind warms to past sun-filled days
Of journeys, sweat and tests,
When appetite served lust and oeuvre
With fizzing blood and zest.

Infused on sky our brightest star
Brings heat to storied face
And sinews of the mind educe
Youth’s vigour, humour, grace.
