  1. I was shaking my head and chuckling like a grandmother in amused contempt for this generation…and realized I actually qualify as belonging to said generation. >_<

Did you ever see that Time Magazine cover story in May 2013? The "The Me Me Me Generation: Millennials are are lazy, entitled narcissists…Why they'll save us all" article. It caused quite a stir. :D

  2. enjoyed this. and learnt a lot of new words, inclucing Twerk and floordrobe..Wish you a belated Happy New year. Hope this year has started well for you

  3. Love it! Happy New Year Mike. I hope 2014 is off to a good start!

    • Poets choose their words judiciously so your comment is especially warming to my ear on this first day of a new year. You have a kind heart and a latent talent Phoebe.

  8. The mind boggles…before shattering into smithereens and falling out our ears. Happy new year, Mike! To a wordsmithing wonderful 2014!

    • Imagine if you were a foreigner learning English today? My respect for people who speak it as a second language grows daily. Thanks for your kind words ELG.

      • ye i can appreciate our language must be one of the hardest to learn, what with its varied history of cultures and eras and influences.
i’ve worked with many people from Africa, Poland and elsewhere, and admire the speed of their learning this.

  12. Bout sums it up :-)

Maze of Musings

"Go into the arts. I’m not kidding. The arts are not a way to make a living. They are a very human way of making life more bearable. Practicing an art, no matter how well or badly, is a way to make your soul grow, for heaven’s sake. Sing in the shower. Dance to the radio. Tell stories. Write a poem to a friend, even a lousy poem. Do it as well as you possibly can. You will get an an enormous reward. You will have created something." - Kurt Vonnegut
